The stars aligned in October of 2020 when Rick Kerzner, owner of Emily’s Catering Group purchased Planet BBQ. You may be curious, wondering, just what Emily’s Catering Group & Planet BBQ is all about. Well, we’re caterers, through and through — in fact it’s all we do and it’s what we truly love.
In 2003, after many years in the catering business, Rick Kerzner took a chance and bought Emily’s Catering Group. During the years prior, he’d worked his way up to the number two spot within a very large catering outfit but always wanted to be number one. Acquiring Emily’s Catering Group gave him the opportunity he needed to realize his dream of being his own boss, and to grow into a well respected caterer in the New England Region.

Catering everything from intimate dinners for two to receptions for thousands, Rick and his team of professionals looked at every opportunity to expand the footprint of Emily’s Catering Group. Finding the right concept and fit was a daunting task, and with a worldwide pandemic changing the way people gather and celebrate, Planet BBQ checked all the right boxes.
